Events Manager

The British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions (BALPPA) has an exciting job opportunity for an experienced Events or Operational Manager to join its small team as an Events Manager. BALPPA is a not for profit Trade Association representing the interests of owners, managers, suppliers and developers in the UK’s commercial leisure parks, piers, zoos, family entertainment centres (indoor play and soft play centres) and static visitor attractions sector.

In this role you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of all BALPPA events which include educational seminars, webinars, receptions, meetings, trade shows and residential conferences. Duties include:

• Sourcing venues, activities, accommodation and transport
• Coordinating and costing event schedules
• Promotion of each event, including obtaining sponsorship and circulating promotional documents
• General administration including processing bookings and sponsorship, preparing event materials and dealing with queries
• Operational delivery of each event

This role is predominately home based but will require some travel to BALPPA’s office in London as well as travel to event venues in the UK and occasionally in Europe, with some overnight stays required during conferences. This role is primarily based on two days per week which can be flexible to suit the applicant but also the needs of the business. The days will be increased to three days per week for around 14 weeks of the year in line with BALPPA’s event schedule.
