The Batavia Quarter, in Lelystad in the Netherlands is one of the countries most famous shopping, leisure and F&B destinations. The area attractions 3 million visitors every year, and includes the Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet, Batavialand Museum, the picturesque harbour and other leisure facilities.

Lelystad are seeking partners to further develop this destination into an impressive and distinctive leisure hotspot for northwestern Europe, with multi-year plans to develop the leisure offerings across the region.

The first phase of the development is the Waterpark Hotel, offering entertainment and leisure for visitors of the Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet.

Phase one - Waterpark Hotel

The plot is approximately 2 hectare (or 5 acres) and is adjacent to the new Batavialand Experience Center and the Fashion Outlet. It is located right on the harbour's edge, a perfect location for a waterpark resort of international standards. The project has a vision for spectacular slides for all ages and themed environments, giving guests an amazing view over Lake IJssel, and guaranteeing a multi-day experience, not yet seen anywhere in the Netherlands.

Wider plans for leisure in the area

Over the coming years, there are plans to develop the Batavia Quarter into a multi day destination for locals and tourists alike. Batavia Quarter is an attractive place to live, stay, shop, dine, and play, and will become one of the largest entertainment hubs in Europe. Plans include:

• An extreme adventure park
• expansion of the Fashion Outlet Center
• a huge indoor entertainment centre (pay-per-ride)
• a themed attraction boardwalk on a newly constructed strip of land
• a high-class hotel on the harbour front
• a river cruise terminal, with a direct connection to Amsterdam
• a waterpark resort of international standards

The location

The city of Lelystad, is a rapidly growing part of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area in the Netherlands (approximately 40 minutes from the capital). It offers an upcoming international airport, state of the art innovative business areas, and all within a beautiful environment and a huge nature reserve with dynamic wetlands. Located in the centre of the country, with excellent accessibility by road, water, air and train, Lelystad offers the perfect conditions for successful leisure operations.
