Membership Officer

ICOM UK is looking for a highly organised, proactive and customer-focused Membership Officer to join the small and collaborative team.
The Role
The Membership Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of membership, supporting and processing new applications, annual renewals, member enquiries, liaison with the Membership Department at ICOM in Paris, and maintaining accurate membership records across ICOM UK’s systems.
Working closely with the Membership & Administration Manager (freelance), the Membership Officer plays a key role in ensuring members receive a professional, responsive service while contributing to membership growth, retention and engagement through effective communications, administration, reporting, data analysis and continuous improvement of our membership processes.

General Responsibilities
- Attend team meetings, Membership Committee meetings and Trustee meetings as required.
- Work in accordance with ICOM UK's values and policies.

- Maintain confidentiality and comply with UK GDPR and Data Protection legislation.

- ICOM UK is a fully remote organisation. Staff are required to have access to basic computer equipment including a PC or laptop and good wi-fi to access the organisation’s Microsoft SharePoint site and associated Microsoft apps, including Teams. A home-working allowance will be paid to employed staff and any expenses incurred whilst performing the requirements of the role will be reimbursed in line with ICOM UK’s Staff Expenses Policy.
Experience & Knowledge
- Working in an administrative role.
- Maintaining accurate databases or CRM systems.
- Managing high levels of emails, enquiries and correspondence.
- Managing competing priorities and working independently.
- Experience using Microsoft Office software and apps, particularly Excel, SharePoint and Teams.
- Understanding and able to apply the principles of excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of office administration and organisational processes.
- Understanding of GDPR, data protection and confidentiality.
Skills
