Imagine Children’s Museum is seeking a Chief Executive Officer!
Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Everett, Washington, Imagine Children Museum continues the same focus and mission of enriching children’s lives through playful learning for the last 32 years. Imagine Children’s Museum (Imagine) provides playful learning experiences to children and their parents or caregivers. Hands-on exhibit areas, enrichment activities and outreach services and programs are designed to enhance developmental skills in all children regardless of gender, ethnicity, learning ability or socioeconomic status.
Imagine proudly serves over 250,000 visitors annually through attendance at the Museum and outreach programs. Imagine primarily serves families in Snohomish County and the greater Puget Sound region, but also draws visitors from all over the U.S. and world.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) currently leads a team of 50+ skilled professionals and 600+ volunteers. Reporting to an eighteen-member Board of Directors, the CEO is fully responsible for the strategic and day-to-day program and financial operations of Imagine Children’s Museum (Imagine) under the policy guidance of the Board of Directors. The CEO is the face of Imagine in the community and will be the key internal leader of the museum. Imagine’s 2023 budget is 3.5 million.
This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary and creative professional to lead Imagine Children’s Museum to the next level of development and success. In close partnership with the Board of Directors, they will lead the development of a strategic plan to promote and augment revenue growth and operating efficiency to further its mission and articulate its vision. They will be a catalyst for achieving current and new goals and aspirations.
In this role, the CEO will partner with a seasoned and sophisticated Board of Directors who are committed to the ongoing success and ensure that Imagine remains a viable, strong, and valuable community resource for generations to come.
The CEO will leverage their passion and skills to lead development of shared vision and strategic plans that excite and enlist the staff and Board, partners, donors and supporters. With a strong commitment and understanding to the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion, the CEO ensures that the Board, staff, and committees reflect the makeup of the community and oversees exhibits and programming which are accessible and relevant for all children regardless of their race, religion, or sexual identity.
The ideal candidate will be a confident, innovative, compassionate individual that leads in a collaborative and inclusive manner. This goal-oriented, savvy leader will embrace and implement Imagine’s mission throughout all duties performed.
The qualified candidate will serve as the leader of the management team, staff, and volunteers, helping to evaluate and prioritize projects and opportunities. They will be a strong leader who can navigate calmly in a dynamic, fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment.
Imagine is seeking candidates with:
- Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years related work experience
- 7+ years of progressive management and leadership experience, with strategic and financial oversight
- Nonprofit management experience preferred
- Experience working in youth development programming, arts and education or museum management is a plus
- Knowledge and demonstrated support of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Proficiency in fund raising, donor relations, capital campaign oversight
- Knowledge in grant writing and grant management
- Experience with Accreditation programs is a plus
- Experience working with city, county and state officials and community groups
- Knowledge of Snohomish County and surrounding regions is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Imagine provides medical, dental, and vision insurance, with a retirement program with company match, as well as vacation, and sick leave.
This is a full-time position with a salary range of $160k-$180k DOE. The position is eligible for annual merit increase based on achievement of organizational goals and performance expectations.
